the big one zero zero

i just figured out i have exactly 100 days until i leave (assuming im leaving after new years)

LOL

ALSO am definitely going to new york with dearest dad *insert squeal* so yay for that

I have a growing list of things to do/see in the Big Apple (aside from apples.. LOL bad pun)

1. United Nations, recently had a *duh* moment of UN being located in NY so definitely touring there, also hoping Putin will make an appearance just cos that’d pretty much make my year/life.

2. Museum Mile- have to go to gym lots to attempt this one seeing as i get tired after walking more than 200m. BUT super excited about museums/art galleries, unfortunately i can see this being the place where Dad and i split up as i am officially the second slowest person to go through art galleries (the slowest being my mother). Luckily i am fairly quick through museums… i dont like dead things they give me the creeps.

3. China town. how awesome.

4. Little Italy. “                 “.

5. Central Park. There is a Lennon memorial park opposite the place where he got shot. I didn’t know why but that it seems to be the one (very morbid) detail about Central Park I remember. That and don’t go there at night.

6. Statue of Liberty. why the hell not?

7. Upper East Side/5th Avenue. To go ‘gossip girl’ spotting and feel inadequate. Good times.

That’s all so far….

PS: Learnt an interesting fact the other day, Kingston is surrounded by many of Canada’s prison. I already feel so much safer.

Procrastination.

Seeing as I have an essay to write, multiple tutorial readings to do and research for another essay I thought now would be a good time to start thinking about exchange.

I swear if procrastination was a degree I’d have finished my Phd by now.

My mum has me all concerned about money seeing as I only have around $4600 atm and the trip costs at bare minimum (excluding flights but including food, accommadation at the uni, clothing, extras) around $5700. I told her 4 months is plenty of time to save the extra grand, internally I’m not quite so cool calm and collected considering flights will be around $3000. And I WAS planning on doing some extra travel *New York*. Hopefully my dear dad will want to meet me in New York which will reduce the cost of that substantially… if he doesn’t pay for accommadation I’ll threaten to sleep on the streets.

So the time has come for me to turn into the most penny pinching, cheap bastard alive.

On the brighter side I’ve been thinking of places to go and see in Canada. The current plan revolves around me finishing the semester around April 30th and , assuming I’ve done some prior travel during the semester, going to Montreal. It’s meant to be like a mini Europe ooo!

Btw did you know wikipedia has a travel guide called wiki travel? New discovery.

So pretty for a shop front!

Pretty cool.  Speaking/writing of cool I learnt an interesting fact the other day whilst researching weather in Canada, specifically Kingston. From January to March ( semester starts 5th jan) I assumed it would be cold, how cold you may be asking, well take a guess. -14 (that was my mum). Well if you were thinking around there you’d be wrong my friend. It ranges from 3 C to -23 C…….. I’ll get on the plane here when its in the 30 C in the middle of summer and land when its closer to negative 30 haha. I’ll definitely get to see some snow! :D

I can’t think of anything more I can write to avoid doing essay. Am slightly regretting the large block of dessert chocolate I’ve been tucking into. Random thought, would they have Cadburys in Canada? … looking at the packet I don’t think so, might be an issue.
